Outreach activities for schools inside and outside of the Local Authority.
Victorian Washdays (Key Stage 1)
- Experience the hard life of the Victorians through, costumes and role-play.
- Explore Victorian artefacts.
History Mystery (Key Stage 1)
- Investigate a range of mystery artefacts from homes in the past.
- Handle and sketch artefacts from the past and make comparisons with modern artefacts.
Ancient Greeks (Key Stage 2)
- Explore Greek artefacts to provide a fascinating look into the Ancient Greek world.
- Investigate Greek armour and imagine you are a Spartan or an Athenian.
- Participate in a fun interactive Greek game.
Romans (Key Stage 2)
- Have the opportunity to dress in a toga and experience life as a Roman
- Investigate Roman armour and discuss battle tactics
- Handle and sketch a variety of Roman artefacts.
Anglo-Saxons (Key Stage 2)
- Explore the Anglo-Saxon world by investigating a traditional costume.
- Handle and sketch Anglo-Saxon artefacts.
Vikings (Key Stage 2)
- Investigate Norse artefacts to discover the history of the Vikings
- Examine a Viking costume and participate in a Viking game.
Victorian Schoolroom (Key Stage 2)
- Experience life as a Victorian child through the use of role-play.
- Handle Victorian artefacts and use tools, such as slate boards and dip pens.
- This Workshop can be adapted for Key Stage 1.
World War II (Key Stage 2)
- Experience life as a child during Wartime Britain through role-play.
- Investigate a range of artefacts from World War II.
