Research sessions
The young people started by investigating the collections on display in the Art Gallery; to see what was there, and what they might be interested in.
In order to get the young people thinking about presentation style and ‘etiquette’, Sally Tomlinson (Admin and Education Assistant) gave a poor presentation (here with her mobile phone ringing)!
The young people were then given the opportunity to put down their ideas about what is needed for a successful presentation.
Hannah Carrington (Visitor Services) gave a mini tour of the Art Gallery. The young people were given useful tips about what sort of questions they might be asked by visitors
Kirsty Archibald (Curator of Art) offered ideas about different ways of getting children involved in finding out about and looking at the art work.
The young people developed ideas for their presentation and discussed them with members of staff; here with Liz McNabb (Development Manager).
They then delivered their presentations while being filmed so that they could critique their performance.
